The Manage sites page is used by Administrators to define the sites to be monitored by InterPublish.

The major functions on this page allow you to:

  • Add a new site - to the list of sites that InterPublish is monitoring
    • Instance name: all the sites monitored by a particular library are said to belong to a single 'Instance'
    • Site ID: created automatically and cannot be modified
    • Site name:  the name you give to the site being monitored
    • Site URL: the URL of the site or page to be monitored
    • Scanning methods:
      • HTML: monitor a changing HTML page by scanning it using XPath
      • RSS: monitor a changing RSS feed
      • SITESEARCH: search a site using the Google Search API
      • UNDEFINED: not in use
    • Default author: contents of this field will be used if scan cannot locate an author element 
    • Extraction path: the path within the HTML document to the first item of metadata to be extracted.
    • Title element:  the path from the start of the metadata to the start of the Title element.
    • URL element:  the path from the start of the metadata to the start of the URL element.
    • Date element: the path from the start of the metadata to the start of the Date element.
    • Site status:
      • ACCEPTED: set by the application when a document from the site is alerted or saved/archived
      • DEAD: set by the application when the link to a site is not responding
      • PROPOSED: set by the application when a document from the site is awaiting Accept/Reject
      • REJECTED: set by the application when a document from the site is Rejected
    • Date added: the date this site was specified in InterPublish
    • Date last scanned: the date InterPublish last scanned this site

  • Search - for a keyword in the record of an existing site that InterPublish may be monitoring
  • Search - for the name of a website that InterPublish may be monitoring
  • Modify - a site that is already being monitored by InterPublish 
  • Delete - a site that is already being monitored by InterPublish
